No i've seen a lot of truely ignorant views.  People telling me there was no advantage over the traditional gamepad.  I forced someone like that to play Pikmin 3 with a gamepad and then wii remote and nun-chuck and he had to admit the wii remote and nun-chuck was better and more accurate.

In the short term it was good that the casuals took it over but since Apple took over the casuals there was no long term benefit to Nintendo. And the negatives were that many people didn't even try great games that worked well with the controller and that never had the chance to evolve as a result. But at least I'll be able to play games like this in VR where Nintendo's ideas are living on.

Pikmin is kind of like a strategy game so of course wii mote would work better, but there are some genres where that isnt the case, fighting games for one.

@Bolded  IMHO anyone with common sense knew that that was what was gonna happen, that audience is fickle at best, there was no strong foundation there. as for not people trying it for games that it worked well on, IMO thats the issue right there, its a standard controller for the system which means its supposed to work well PERIOD, and that was far from the case. Ninty never really seem to care to evolve it themselves, sure we got motion+ years later but even then they barely supported that and it was still not up to par with the capabilites of the Move, but thats just what i think having used both. I think Sony will beat them to the VR punch before Ninty does and as a result i think Ninty wont even try.

You do realise that VR will suck for some traditional play styles and genre's right?  The suggest that there is something wrong with some genres not working well with Wii Remote and nun-chuck and then herald Sony for beating Nintendo to the punch on something even more dramatic that will even moreso not suit certain genres is a little unfair don't you think?

In terms of Nintendo and VR. I think before Nintendo tries that again they will wait for the technology to mature a little bit more. It's not something that's gonna have a massive install base within a couple of years because it's one step more antisocial then gaming with a headset on. And it's also really expensive to release a system that's capable of it and asking the consumer to also buy a 400 dollar plus vr set. I think Nintendo will wait for it to evolve and for their to be a lot of VR headsets out there and eventually support it once mainstream.  They could at that point just support Oculus and Vive and whatever other ones would be non proprietary. It's nice that Sony is supporting it by coming up their own version which their system is actually capable of using but it's not gonna be a massive hit.  During the PS4 lifespan i think Sony will be lucky to sell 20 million VR's.  And Nintendo isn't gonna do a side project like that.  Whatever the NX is it's gonna be fully supported with all nintendo first party and second party software i would think.
