No, this is completely wrong. Some people prefer console, some prefer PC. Just because a game appears on PC aswell doesn´t mean console gamers jump ship. MS understands thism which is why they´re catering to gamers through console, PC, tablets and smartphones.

I do agree with your second part, they are already starting real push the XBox app, and I hope they will release all coming games on both platforms and allow cross-play.

 

That's the idea. They won't drop the Xbox console, but the Xbox might eventually just compete with Apple rather than Sony, since odds are they will sell the Xbox as a branded PC...
