If you want your population healthy, get rid of winters!

Actually cold weather has health benefits you burn more fat in cold weather.

I think that tiny advantage is lost in people spending far more time indoors in winter.

For myself it's 10:1 for outside time between summer and winter. I don't mind the heat and have no problem going cycling for 80 km when it's 35c outside, yet store my bike when it gets below 15c. Pool is closed too after October, and while I don't mind swimming in 65F water, I don't stay in long when it's cold. Plus it doesn't help that it's completely dark by 5pm. Luckily it's solstice day already, should be getting better from now.

This winter sucks. Normally I take the kids on long hikes in the snow, yet so far it has just been gray with drizzle. I guess that's the intermediate step in getting rid of winters! Where's the snow... +12c expected on Christmas eve.
