Wii U is getting Minecraft a couple years late and at a $10.00 premium versus the other platforms. The developers should have at least offered Wii U owners some compelling reason to buy the Wii U version of the game. Gamepad integration for the menus would have been a huge selling point for a game like Minecraft on the Wii U. Third parties release inferior versions of games on Wii U months or years after they were released elsewhere and then use it's poor sales to justify abandoning the Wii U (think Watchdogs and UbiSoft). Well, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy... If you make a crappy game then it is not going to sell regardless of the platform. ZombiU is a million-selling game on the Wii U because Ubisoft took the time and effort to make a decent game for the Wii U and I guarantee that it has made that company a profit in return. The same could be the case with Minecraft... the Wii U has a young audience that would eat this game up... I could easily have seen it selling > 2 million if it was released on Wii U a couple years earlier and properly utilized the system that it was released on.

As much as I agree with a lot of that rethoric, ZombiU hasn't sold a million, and Ubi didn't profit from it.

I'm not disputing what you're saying and thank you for the article.
That said, VGChartz has ZombU pinned at 0.93 million right now and I do believe that it will cross 1 million before the Wii U's life is over. The fact that ZombiU can't be profitable with those sorts of sales blows my mind. I started out as an N64 gamer and back then a million-selling game got recognition and a big price cut for those kinds of sales. I honestly don't know about the gaming industry anymore...
