Agree completely. How on earth did they get away with that. The storyline is identical to Episode 4. It should've been called 'Another Hope'. It felt more like a remake than a sequel.
Abysmal end fight too. How did Finn stand up to Ren for even a second in a lightsaber duel. Finn, an inexperienced Storm trooper from the sanitation department who's only experience previously with a lightsaber was a brief duel he lost to a storm trooper with a cattle prod. Yet he's able to give Ren a good fight. Ridiculous.

Edit - Meant to say 'Ren', not 'Rey'

The sad thing is that this description of what happens is pretty much spot on.

Kylo Ren is inexperienced himself, the way he fight shows that, the way Snoke talks to him show it as well, hes strong with the force but inexperienced. Also he was at the lowest point when he fought Finn after what had just happened, he is shown as a conflicted charcter btween the dark and the light and at that moment the conflict was at its peak, obviously making him loose focus, wich allowed for the blaster shot to land for once.

Stormtroopers have hand to hand combat training, and he is not a stormtrooper from the sanitation, he was obviously a soldier like everyone else, he was in Jakku after all shooting things, however during the building of the Starkiller Base, he worked in sanitation (meaning he didnt realy know how the thing worked and just winged it on the Ressistence meeting). Also Finn is fighting to protect Rey and he may or may not be force sensitive, there are a few hints he might be kinda liek Leia was, not a full on jedi but conected with the Force. And Ren was injuried and won the duel, so I dont realy see the problem.

To adress another common topic some ppl are beatching about, why the 1st Order build a Death Star like weapon and not something else ? Maybe because they are using the Empire technology and they ahd the plans for the Death Satr, therefore it was an obvious move to get what they already had and improve on it, rather than coming up with an entire new tech. They are also using improved Tie Fighters, the stormtroopers use very similar armor to those of the Empire etc. So in short its Empire tech it makes sense.
