As others have said, Fates seems on track to beat Awakening soon in Japan. This coupled with more visibility for the franchise in the West should allow it to at least get close to the 2 million mark.
As an aside, I'm very excited for the game and to see where the series will go in the future. It seems to be on the upswing ever since Awakening came out.
