Square Enix might have just dropped a fairly substantial hint on the release window of Final Fantasy XV. It’s hidden in an extra-long survey, coming with a whopping fifty questions to Japanese fans, basically stopping just short of asking for their three sizes and sleeping habits. Actually, scratch that. There’s a question that gets very close to asking about their sleeping habits.

Funny details on the questions aside, those who resist all the way to question 47, are greeted by a rather interesting dilemma that you can see below.

Here’s a question for those considering to purchase both Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV: If both titles were released at roughly the same time, which one would you prioritize (buying)?

  1. Persona 5
  2. Final Fantasy XV
  3. I’ll buy both

This seems to be a fairly solid hint to the possibility that Square Enix is at least considering to releaseFinal Fantasy XV in the same window as Persona 5, which would be Summer 2016.

The poll also asks gamers that intend to purchase Persona 5 why they are interested in the game, with the following answers:

  1. Because it’s a domestic (Japanese) RPG
  2. Because the world is interesting
  3. Because the characters are interesting
  4. Because I like Atlus games
  5. Because I like the persona series
  6. Because the promotion of the game sparked my interest
  7. Because I heard of the reputation of the game

Of course Square Enix hasn’t made any specific announcements yet, and only hinted to the possibility of disclosing the release date in March (which would fit a release in the summer), so we should consider this a rumor for now, and take it with the customary pinch of salt.

That said, it’s definitely intriguing, considering that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was also released in the summer.
