Yeah, of course, if Rockstar can make a good argument for it, but can they? In my estimate I already estimated the development budget to be up by 38%, which is more than enough to make up for the extra costs of developping for this gen, and having more money left to increase the scope versus GTAV.

Also, when you say a budget of 500 million, how much of that is for marketing? Do you mean that 500 million would be only for development costs? Which would be 3.6 times GTAV's budget?

400 million (500m for gta7) with marketing included but also included is the increase in scope, rockstar did not need to make a game as massive and polished as Gta5 which is a Huge jump from gta4 and sanandreas, it dwarfs prior titles. Rocks tar and take two have pretty much flat out said in the media lately that this is the business model they are going for, to take the time to exceed expectations and if they don't dwarf the game before it they may as annalise it which they have stated they will not. This is where the bigger budget comes it. Also It all depends on the release date which I'm sure they are smart enough to see that they will make the most profit releasing at the end of this gen and they will have the foresight this time to develop for 9th gen while porting down instead of up. It wouldn't make any sense for them to do otherwise considering the profit they made with Gta5 releasing 7th and 8th gen and I'm sure many people will be happy to double buy again for gta6. I for one paid 340 euro on three copies of that game and a shark card after an online profile mishap, I was only happy to spend the price of a console. No other game has that effect on people.

GTAV's budget was 37% higher than GTAIV's budget, yet you are still saying it was a huge jump from GTAIV. So why would they need a 100% jump in budget from GTAV to GTAVI to blow away GTAV
