The Zelda CD-i trilogy. Not only do they introduce a new and fresh take on the Zelda series, it expands on the lore with memorable characters, amazing action, and game play that is still unmatched by even today's standards.The Zelda CD-i games were truly the pinnacle of not only gaming, but of human achievement. As much as some like OoT or ALttP, they won't deny the greatness of the CD-i games. The game play is tight, the level design is phenomenal, and has a story with so many twists and turns that you'll be wondering what'll happen next every step of the way.
If you've never played a Zelda game, I wouldn't recommend the CD-i games because if you do you'll never be able to play another Zelda game again. Hell, you may quit gaming knowing nothing could come close to those masterpieces in our life time.
