Sony did it, what should Microsoft (Xbone) and Nintendo (WiiU) do to make a comeback?

MS got too specialized in shooters for me to want the console. When the 360 was the console to own it had games like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata. They need to diversify into genres I want in order for me to take the console seriously.
