If Sony want's to carry the $349 MSRP through into 2016 it needs the BOIII bundle to not be discounted down to $299. I've always said Sony should sell the 500GB stock as end of line stock at $299 and bring in the 1TB sku as the standard unit at $349, and aim to have all 500GB stock gone by the end of the FY. Then aim for a Sept/Oct Slim release with a 1TB sku at $299 and a 2TB sku at $349.
Then do a rinse and repeat of 2015 BF with taking the slim 1TB down another $50 to $249.
