I think more threads should be displayed in the Hot Topics section at the front page

I would be fine if they just took the Hot Topics off of the front page. You're a forum user, for god's sake. Have the integrity to dig deeper than the "mainstream" threads.

Yes, it sounds nice theoretically. What would actually happen is - the traffic would get lower, due to people being lazy - and the customrs would start walking away.

Not if the latest topics were on the front page though.
