Just to comment on this point. It's actually the PS4 which will be priced at $299. The example given being that the entry cost to VR is much cheaper on PS4 compared to buying a new PC.
That being said, IHS do believe the PS VR will be cheaper than high end competitors such as Oculus and Vive but they do not actually say what the price will be.
