I expected the Xbox One to perform better throughout the holidays in the American market. It had Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider (Which admitedly was a huge letdown sales wise) plus it typically has a strong holiday season in America.
If the Xbox One was unable to make strong gains this holiday season I don't see how it can possibly catch up to the PS4.
Still being a success does not require the Xbox One to outsell the PS4 overall.
