I'm saying they didn't relax. They weren't not trying their hardest to make a successor to the Wii that was equally successful. They just failed.

I saying that they relax after their biggest success in history, Nintendo also said something similar. They thought it's enough just to leave Wii name for console and not to invest in marketing, and console alone will once more flying from shelves, but reality was that name of console and weak and terible marketing are bigest reasons (from huge  number of mistakes) why Wii U failed.

For every console you have reasons why some console was sold good or bad, Wii U has biggest number of reasons why failed, it literally was bloody mess.

There you go again clining on every word a member of Nintendo's PR/Marketing team says. Maybe they did think the Wii name would do some of the marketing for them", it worked for the Super Nintendo after all. It's also worked with Sony and the Playstation 2, 3, and 4, and with Microsoft and the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  That's no real excuse. Did Nintendo do a poor job or marketing? Yes. Is that a dominant reason why the Wii U sold poorly? Absolutely not.

This does not mean that Nintendo did not put forth their best effort in making a console they felt would be successful. The Wii U is not as successful as the PS4 because Sony did a better job of marketing than Nintendo did. The Wii U is not successful because Nintendo made a console that people did not want to buy, because it's underpowered, because it's too expensive, because the screen in the controller forces players to take their eyes off the television, because it doesn't have the types of games the average gamer likes to play etc. etc. Marketing is only one factor small factor. I'm pretty sure Sony just do annoucements at E3, and do no other advertising or marketing otherwise, and still PS4 would still outsell the Wii U.

Also, the Wii U was not "literally" a bloody mess, it was figuratively a bloody mess.

No, I thought that even before Nintendo said they were "relax" in some sort.

Wii 2, Super Wii or Wii HD would be much better names than Wii U. That in combination with marketing that send basically massage that Wii U is actually just a tablet controller for Wii, are single biggest mistakes, and in combination with other mistakes you have faile on scope of Wii U.

So we both agree that Nintendo done almost everything wrong with Wii U, only I think they certainly want (and can't) repeat all those mistakes because after fail like this they sit down and said "why Wii U is such a huge fail and how to make next console product that will sell much better".  Also, Nintendo addressed most of Wii U mistakes and they said they will not repeat them with next console.
