The NX could end third selling 40 millions and it would be a success, not a failure. So no, Nintendo doesn't need to be second, they need a console that sells well. After all, the GameCube and Xbox "tied" for second place and only sold ˜25 millions consoles. Do you think Nintendo would be happy with a second place like that? Because I don't.

Can someone explain me how can they do that without turning the console into a PC? Because in a console all components are soldered onto the PCB, you just can't remove one part and put another one in its place.
