Inorder to better understand the situation;look at the current lineup of games for the PS3 and you will notice that most of all the games are good but targeted toward a western market[Uncharted,Ratchet,COD,Heavenly Sword,etc]with DMC being the one japanese oriented game that sells well in Japan and is good.Saying that people will only buy a wii because its a one console territory is not logical reason and is just blowing off the PS3 for no logical reason when consumers usually follow the games not the trends no matter how true this trend was last gen. Which brings up my next point,the PS2 was successful in Japan because of the array of games it offered,a collection unmatched by Nintendo last gen or this gen.While Nintendo continues to dominate a market with no competition[software] as of yet,it remains to be seen whether or not this trend will continue and whether or not the PS3 has a chance overthrow the wii. |
The PS2 was successful in Japan long before any of the 'big' games came out. The PS2 sold 800k in it's first two days.
