I hope they knock it out of the park and give me an irresistible reason to buy a Nintendo home console for the first time since the SNES. If they do a bang up job implementing industry standards like account systems then this could be the one. The key, though, for me, would be the ability to play their great handheld console games like Fire Emblem on a home console, plus Zelda, Metroid, and other non-platformers.
The clues to make this work are all there, they just have to put them together. I see no reason why NX shouldn't be golden if they do it right. No, it won't replace my (eventual) PS4 but it doesn't need to. A moderately inexpensive system with every game Nintendo develops would be the perfect compliment.
I'm kind of excited.
