I'm not disappointed. :)  You always were the most defensive of the Nintendo users here.

Right.  I've looked up the software attach rate of both consoles.  Guess what?  Both 10!  So if most people bought it as a cheap DVD player then the actual gamers were able to buy themselves far more games than Gamecube users.

Also there were 662 games released for GC and 2469 for PS2.  On the top of my head, I distinctly remember a lack of Square-Enix on GC which would have definitely contributed to a lot of console sales.

Once the console was inmensively successfull thanks to be a cheap dvd of course it was the console with more games. Without a dvd it would have done shit. Dreamcast came after, GC exclusives were much better at first and Xbox made online gaming on consoles popular, both more powerfull too, even Dreamcast was more powerfull in some aspects. DVD is the only reason why its numbers were so big at first. Also most of those games were shovelware, Ps2 was like the Wii of its time, and also lot of people use it just to play karaoke, eyetoy and things like that. I remember that as it was yesterday.

Yes it had the most games but you said nothing about attach rate (just compare it to the Wii one to see if it was the "Wii of its time"). And if we go by "I remember that as it was yesterday", I cant remember anyone with an actual Eyetoy or any popular Eyetoy game, you wont find an eyetoy game in the top 10 best selling ps2 games(Eyetoy play is 33), just compare that to the wii series.

Also, if you check the VGC database you can see that the highest karaoke game is a highschool musical game on like 146th place and only 1.87 million copies sold.
