After all, it is the best scapegoat argument if you don't want to accept that Nintendo can become one of the biggest players in the RPG genre, just like it did with the multiplayer shooter genre.

This is so laughably bad.

1) Nintendo is not a major player in the multiplayer shooter genre, especially since they only have one decent multiplayer shooter. Splatoon has done absolutely nothing for the industry. Sales of the genre are the same as before, consumer interest is the same as before, and games are the same as before. This is like saying Evolve has made turtle rock studios a MAJOR player of the shooting genre, just because they released one decent shooter game. Splatoon has done nothing to change up the industry and gets cremated in sales by actual major players (call of duty, battlefield,...). Splatoon also hasn't introduced any gameplay mechanic for the shooter genre like titanfall has with parqour or mass effect with rpg integration. People need to stop pretending that anything Nintendo does makes them a "major" player in something.

2) The JRPG genre will not be "saved" by Xenoblade X. Not that it needed saving in the first place, but even if it did, it wouldn't be because of an average rpg made exclusively for the worst selling console this generation.

3)If, by any chance, Xenoblade X does make an impact it will be due to the years of work by Monolith Soft, the developer, not by Nintendo, the publisher. It's okay to say Monolith Soft is part of Nintendo, it is not okay to say "this team in Nintendo did this, therefore that other team at Nintendo will do the same"
