Yes. Videogames are expensive and blocking in-game content under paywalls is bad, it's annoying if you can afford it and a very dickish move if you can't. If amiibos could get you the DLC (you get the DLC plus the figurine) it would be an amazing value, specially in games with more expensive downloadable content, like FE Awakening. You want Cloud on Smash? Just buy the amiibo, you get one DLC code, the figurine and the amiibo advantges. Also a good incentive to buy the  game, if you have the amiibo for the figurine and you get the DLC from one game. Why not just buy it and use both the DLC and the amiibo?

I have three amiibos, and I just use them as decoration. I don't mind them as long as the content is optional or purely aesthetic, but if they start to block too much content behind them, that would piss me off a lot.
