Splatoon looks to me like the most fresh and addictive videogame in a long time, I actually think is the best thing Nintendo has done in several years (I´m not alone in this, even the Times magazine said that), that game is freaking amazing, pure unadulterated fun based on 100% quality of gameplay and game design, Splatoon is videgames on its best expression, some of you need big open worlds with top notch graphics to see greatness, but oh lord, that's so narrow minded.
And btw, the reason Splatoon has not a bigger score on Metacritic is because it was released with a 30% of the content it has right now, that was the onbly complain of critics, you see reviews like "The best online shooter in years" 7/10, "The best online experience of the generation" 7/10, but if the game was released with all the free content that come later (now has 15 maps, +50 weapons, +150 pieces of gear, 4 online modes, 2 matchmaking options, and more coming) the game would be easily around the MK8 score (88), even IGN did a re-review and they gave it 7 points more this time. Not that metacritic scores are that important to beggin with, but this is why.

Where exactly did I say it isnt a great game, Im saying that if it wasnt Nintendo you most likely wouldnt even care the game existed (you can say otherwise but when this game was revealed, if it wasnt present as Nintendo doing a shooter most ppl wouldnt even have looked twice), it would be bashed before release and fly under the radar due to the concept being rather wierd and ppl would not have half the good will they have towards the game now, even if ppl who actualy played the game were clamoring it was great, specialy consider ti released with very little content. The world is ful of great games by companies that arent perceived as doing great games that fly completly under the radar of almost everybody, there is a bias towards Nintendo, more so than any other company, to the point ppl see fit in making a thread talking about how RPGs will sudenly become the most awesome thing in the world now that Nintendo released 1 RPG.
