"Technically impossible" could mean the engine the game runs on only works on other architectures. It could mean they wrote the code in a way that makes it "technically impossible" to port the game to the Wii U without putting lots of resources into it (they'd have to rewrite half the game, basically). |
The issue is the obvious connotation of the statement, that the implied idea that most will take away is that the Wii U is incapable of running the game on a technological level. And all devs know this, they say it this way on purpose. Rather than take responsibility for their decisions themselves - saying " we have no plans" or "we don't have the resources" etc - they intentionally pass the buck by putting the weight of the statement on the Wii U, implying the system is incapable of it rather than acknowledging they personally can't or won't put in the leg work for to port. Its just PR spin, like big companies do, to sugar coat their decisions. That's what people don't likem
