Ps4 has had a few internal revisions xbox has not. The ps4 uses parts that are expected to get cheaper over time. It sells twice as much which means they get better deals on everything. The margins will be bigger.
I'd imagine xbox one is being sold at a loss and Microsoft are using games and live to make up the loss. I'd guess Sony are selling at a profit from the off. They really want to make as much as possible from the ps4. They need to after all.
