Even if it was just the home console, it isn't doubtful. People need to stop pretending that companies make products with the expectation that they won't be a success.

Nintendo has been selling less consoles to the consumer with each passing generation since the SNES (bar the Wii). It is doubtful unless they sell third parties. The hardcore gaming audience doesn't care anymore and 10-12m units is outrageous unless they plan to sell at a massive loss, which likely isn't the case. It needs to be powerful and it needs to attract third parties. If it can't do that it's DOA. This is overly ambitious.

Could it happen? Sure, but the chances are slim.
