I think the characters in the prequels were just stuffy because it was supposed to be "a more civilized time". That's what i tell myself, anyway. Then again, with a lot of older movies, I find more natural dialog than I do in most modern films. Sometimes, I just watch movies from the 70s and 80s solely for the natural conversations. It's a lost art.
