| stof said: I, Stof, am a tree planter. For my second time, I will be spending two months in northern Ontario. I will spend that time planting trees 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. I will sleep in a tent at a bush camp, wake up at 5 A.M. each day and shower maybe, MAYBE once a week. Why so few showers? A few reasons.
Reason 1. We get dirty so often that if we showered every time we weren't clean we'd wash our skin off Reason 2. We all stink, so who'll notice? Reason 3. So little time in a day And finally, the most important reason of all: The more you shower, the more the bugs are attracted to you. Black flies, Mosquitoes, Dear flies, Horse flies and those crazy beetles that will sometimes accidentally fly in to you and take a bite out of you the size of a Vespa. So why would I subject myself to this torture that a lot of people end up quitting after just a week or two? Because it's the greatest experience of my life. 2 months of bonfires, swimming in lakes (I swam in 7 seperate lakes and a river last time), meeting awesome people, getting drunk, getting high, eating amazing food and just hanging out. There's nothing like it. There's also no internet. I'm leaving sometime thursday night/friday morning. And for the next two months I might MIGHT visit this site during my day off in town. But I make no promises. So this is my farewell thread. Why is it in website discussion instead of off topics you ask? Because I'm a mod, and I'm in a rather power abusing mood right now. |
Looks like a good idea that need some refinements, though.
About food: remember to eat baby seals meat, it would be a waste to use only skins and grease
About all the activities and terrible foes: wouldn't it be a lot handier to do everything with a wiimote from a soft couch?
I had a great idea! Somebody could derive a videogame from these experiences!
And finally, about the mod thing... We'll wait for you to be out of sight to run amok
Well... Bye, enjoy the nature!
