if the hadnt had such crap launches and reveals they would have been giving PS4 a much better fight.

I think Sony just hired the right people this time around. Someone, or a group of REALLY intune people took the pulse of the industry and acurately figured out exactly what gamers would want in the year 2013. Compare that to Nintendo and Microsoft. Both of their systems (as of right now), are full of great games. Both of them are worthy to own (my opinion), but neither of them had the right message at launch. One of them (Wii-U) tried to push the casual, new controller input Wii route again, even though it had obviously collapsed a few years prior. The other (Microsoft) tried to push the Xbox One as some multimedia machine that could manage your TV viewing and also, prevent you from playing used games. Both of their stratigies were absolutely FAIL. Sony didn't have that issue because again, someone they hired was really, REALLY great at finding out what the industry wanted circa 2013. It worked.

I think the lesson to take away from this generation is... do your market research better. Stop trying to move consumers into areas that you want them to be in and start moving into areas that they ARE in.

I dont think they hired anyone, IMHO i think they just used basic common sense
