Actually we dont know that.

Atlus could very well have the publishing rights when it comes to the US. 

Until a remaster or sequel is made and released in the US without Atlus attached, we will never really know.

In a backwards world where Sony doesn't recognize that FromSoftware = $$$, sure. Atlus could score publishing rights again.

 

Except they won't, because the game doesn't belong to them and Sony can (and will) publish themselves. It would be financially irresponsible to let someone else publish it this time around.
