There are to posibilitys.. (imo)

1. Nintendo will make a game/dlc that can use second gamepad

2. This is just to replace broken ones.. to the ones not having garantee anymore

3.   Nintendo doesn't want third party gamepads to start appearing and stealing a very obvious hole in the market.

You could say that with alot of producs then.. :) but point is..  the reason would still be for "fixing" 1 or 2..
