It's not really a question if this game was ever going to be successful on Xbox. S/E needed the money, because apparently, MS offered a crap ton of it if S/E was willing to gamble away the IP. Figured the game's role on the platform would end up with it being a freebie.
All I can say is, if you think the game looks great, and you don't want an Xbox One, just be patient and support the game when it comes to other platforms, it may be the last we'll see of Lara for a while. There's really nothing else that can be said anymore.
