I have played racing sims before, my favorite is Viper Racing (PC, 1999) which is a viper sim that surprisingly holds up really well and even though it has only one car model and a handful of tracks it c*aps all over GT5 as far as enjoyment of racing and fun factor.
Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.
