| Nautilus said: To be honest, while the Uncharted series had a better metacritic than the reboot of Tomb Raider, i found Tomb Raider better than Uncharted. It really felt more like you were fighting for your life, the exploration was superb(which in Uncharted there is next to none), and the combat overall was better. The only thing that uncharted does better than Tomb Raider, in my opinion, is the story, but not by much. And while i think I will like more Rise of Tomb Raider than UC4, I dont think Rise will score better than it.UC4 seems to have learned a thing or two from Lara, and looks like the world will be more open now, and the combat seems more engaging. We will need to see, but i find it hard for it to score 86 or lower |
UC4 has learned little from lara craft. The script writing isn't even on par. The first game had the whole island and every bit of wreckage out to kill you. Uncharted was more balanced well thought out and the mechanics much like the last of us was solid. I just bought tomb raider 2 but I hope they learned their lesson from one. It's hard not to question a woman who acts like a life threatening injury is on her when she's impaled for like a quarter of the game. I won't spoil it for everyone but the last of us stayed true to the immersion better and so did uncharted 2 when drake was injured. Uncharted has a crazy story but the story and gameplay were balanced into one cohesive unit where as tomb raider felt like a crazier thrill ride but less charming. The amount of rounds you had to unload on some enemies with your ak was unrealistic. Last but not least there's not much for tomb raider to learn for Nathan drake because unlike crystal dynamics and square Sony is confident in creating new franchises with naughty do and others under their ownership.
