And frankly it would be okay if more publishers did EA Access is doing. Having access to large library of games for $30 is better than renting a single game for a few months on PS Now for a high price.
EA failed? I think they're doing fine. Less sales on X1 has more to do with the userbase. However, EA Access subscriptions help bolster profits on that platform.
If the 10 hour trials are really hurting EA sales, I imagine EA is just going to revise what their trials offer. In the BF:Hardline trial I think you could only play the first mission and 10 hours of multiplayer. So if there is a campaign, the trials only give you access to a small portion.
