But will NX be 9th gen? they are of course diminishing the 3DS and wii U support to focus in NX, but NX can be also 8th gen, so perhaps they are not done with 8th gen.


Actually, counting from jan 1st and to around nov 15th; 2015 is at around 1.85 million versus roughly 2.1 million in 2014, so that's not true. It was flat for the week ending on the 14th of nov. Assuming the numbers are correct, that is, it may be slightly overtracked. Regardless, it's at least 10% down yoy thus far and there's not much reason to think it will make up any lost ground during the holidays.

You just remembered me  a person with who I had a dispute about wii u  sales in Japan back in february!

He was saying with certainty that wii u was near at the 80% of its lt sales (Which was implying 2.8m final sales and wii u is  at 2.7m as of second week of november '15, two years and eleven months after it's launch in Japan) and I suggested him to be cautious because there would be things that could boost wii u or  make it to resurge! His answer was absolute: in no way wii u sales will be raised! Guess what! Splatoon did it , xenoblade chronicles had boosted previously wii u and super mario maker gave a further push/kept wii u afloat along with splatoon retrospective boost.

Wii u has really tempting bundles for the holidays...

Wii u has a super smash bros+splatoon deluxe set bundle for a suggested price of 279$ for holidays, Mario kart 8+splatoon premium pack bundle for a suggested price of 280 euros in Europe and Splatoon bundle in Japan which was released recently and increased wii u sales!
