The problem with this that next year is NX year. For them to reveal the NX, but then later announce Mario Galaxy 3 or whatever for Wii U would make no sense.

But we already have our big Mario and Legend Of Zelda game announced (and Mario being out for a few years). They could easily announce a new Metroid for Wii U and gain some excitement even if they announce the successor to Wii U. 

I also expect a 30th anniversary LoZ show at E3 that will be around the same as their 25th in 2011 and Skyward Sword E3 (with Wii U reveal). 

*Edit* I also felt it was of note to say that the project rainfall games weren't announced for release until after E3 2011 and reveal of the Wii U.
