With having some exclusive IP bought its guaranteed they will come to that console. So Nintendo for example doesnt have to do that well with third parties to get that specific game on their console , because they bought it and stuff. Nintendo is really good in making the most of their Ip's, and even better now that they will with theme parks. OFC this case doesnt have to be with only Nintendo. The same example can be implemented into Playstation |
The problem with that is buying those iP's for their system only doesn't benefit me at all, like I said I prefer most if not all games being multiplat. I've seen many franchises go from exclusive to multiplat and being better off for it both profit and audience wise, it's also clear that quality is a subjective case that shouldn't outfactor the other two(especially since F4 is enjoyed by fans and is selling a lot despite it's visual quality which in the end is subjective anyway).
The thing is that money can only go so far and of course snatching said IP's from other audiences clearly does leave a lasting impression both good and bad, the abd of course never gets forgotten and then you scorn that audience who would likely just give their money to someone else, if we were all objectively ok with playing musical chairs then only one system would remain in the industry at this point but it's clear we all aren't so our money does go elsewhere than to a system that snatches up IP's.
Also we haven't even seen the final result of Nintendo's theme park ideas let alone how they are going to work or gather crowds, Nintendo is good at making *some* IP's but not everything, the same goes for any 1st party creator, not everything is perfect and objectively good, again this harks back to quality being subjective.
In the end I will never find dumping £300+ on one system after another as being good for my wallet, I'd rather play the games I want on my rig and pay the prices for those games than £300+ and then the game prices on top, especially when I;m not invested in said systems.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
