The Titans used their last timeout with 2:22 left after the Jags failed on 3rd down. Any successful play for that 1 foot would have taken it to the 2 minute warning, a new set of downs, and IIRC, 2 minutes can be successfully kneeled out.

Instead, they kicked the FG at 2:21, giving the Titans the ball on kickoff starting at 2:19 left. On 1st and 10, they got a 13 yard completion, and were able to get another play off at 2:01, which beat the 2 minute warning. They botched their 2nd play with a 5-yard penalty.

I think I feel the way I do because I've seen SO many teams botch time management at the end of the half and the 4th quarter this year. One famous recent one was the NYG/PAT game where the Giants were in FG range, and PASSED it three times near the end zone. Remember, they started with 2:06 left, 1st down, down 23-24 from the Patriots 5 yard line. The Patriots had a single TO remaining. Running the ball three times would have taken most of the time off the clock even with the single TO used by NE. With the runs, you either score the TD (which might actually be a bad thing on 1st or 2nd down, but whatever) or simply eat a bunch of time.

Arguably they could have also knelt three times and then kicked the FG, and it would have been FAR preferable to the horrendous decision to throw three incomplete passes, rapidly stopping the clock and giving NE the opportunity to make the NYG coaches look like imbeciles yet again (which was hilarious, but come on now).

Aggression seems to pay in the NFL. I also really felt that the Jags had gathered momentum in the 4th quarter, so it felt 'soft' to me to kick the FG.
