FYI. Abdelhamid Abaaoud confirmed dead.

A few days ago I started a thread here to discuss an article by Paul Tassi at Forbes, it erroneously reported that PS4 was a  device known to be used by ISIL to communicate terror plots etc. In my opinion the article deserved to be retracted but was instead updated with a small disclaimer but only after it had gone on to media outlets worldwide.

It should come as no surprise to those familiar to methods of commuication and their suitability for specific purposes that consoles in all likelihood are not being used by terrorists for communication purposes. They need to be stationary and connected to an output device to even use. It is clear that due to the need to be highly mobile and devices needing to be disposable, that cheap smartphones are the most likely piece of equipment to be used.

There are literally countless messaging apps that can be used to communicate securely , how do intelligence services know which service to monitor?

Who knows what damage this has done to console gaming in a wider context....

What are your thoughts?
