Ok but the PC version outsold the XBO and the PC version has had the least MGS games on PC. Even if it was bundled they still get money. And if MGSV sells a million copies LTD on Xbox One , for a multi million game seller, that would still be a little and when you compare it to the PS4 which will sell a few millions. If the PS4 version accounts for 69% of the sales and 23%, that's just to much of a difference, and the difference is increasing every month for PS4. And this is just US, what do you think the % difference is WW, a lot bigger, probably around 80%.Even if MGS does sell a million it gives proof to other Japanese developers that Xbox One owners don't buy them when looking at the % difference. And as I said, MGSV is hardly your typical Japanese game, it has a big western appeal compared to other Japanese games.

The 360 had a lot more Japanese games, and 500k-1 million is a lot for Japanese games in the west, the only one that sells more than that is Final Fantasy. And you can give any excuse for the salss of FFType 0 you want but it wont matter because if people on PS4 bought it, there should be no reason for XBO owners not to since your defending its sales on XBO.

I don't think a bundled copy has the same value. But whatever...

A million sales on X1 could be enough to justify the work of making that port. Especially if MS gives some financial assistance whether it be for development or marketing. Eventually that X1 port can continue to profit via being available on a digital market place for the next decade, Games with Gold, etc.

I think Japanese developers will avoid X1 for niche stuff and anime nonsense. As they often ignored the 360. But for games that can potentally sell 500K or a million, Xbox is worth supporting and so is PC (Microsoft Windows inparticular).

The Japanese support dried up 360 when MS stopped moneyhatting. Most of the Japanese support after that was primarily action stuff that did well in the west.

FF Type 0 has bad sales on X1 and modest sales on PS4. Its not a hit, period. The expectations for FFVX are much greater on both platforms.

Here's the thing, you're hyper focused on market share. But the concern of most publishers is can we make extra money on that other platform. In some cases even the fraction of sales on X1 could be millions in profits. Also, as X1 sales grow software sales will as well.

On a side note, Wii U didn't lose 3rd party support because the market share was so low. They lost support because the sales were objectively poor, waste of resources and perhaps lossed money. If CoD on Wii U could sell a measly million units than support probably would have continued. As it did on the original Wii for years.
