Eh... there wasn't much of a fight though. She tried to box a hands down better striker and was dominated. Ronda wanted to take it to the ground but she couldn't even do that.

I don't think Ronda underestimated, Holm was just fucking amazing that night and frankly just might be better than Ronda.


How many takedowns did you see Rhonda go for? How many clinches? How many judo trips? Rhonda was in over her head. Next time she'll fight without being so pig headed and underestimating her division. She will look back at the tapes and fix what needs to be fixed. Shes definitely a better boxer than Rhonda and that will not change anytime soon. Perhaps Rhonda needs to go back to the drawing board and be herself which is a mix of Judo and Jiu Jitsu.

If you look at the fight you'd see Rousey was trying to close distance, she had a clinch against the cage but lost it, and was even attempting an arm bar when they were on the ground. Holm was able to power out everytime and kept distance.

She couldn't do her judo and jiu jitsu because she couldn't close the distance and she was exhausted from taking a world class ass beating in the first round.

For the rematch, Ronda either needs to become a better striker or find a way to close the distance. Because I'm pretty sure Holm is gonna stick with a similar strategy.

Rousey tried to stand up with her, hence why she gave chase. She only got ahold of her once, seriously and holm took her down which was a waste of an effort. She cant outbox the girl so out judo and jiu jitsu her. Simple. Watch any analyst. They will tell you the same. I guarantee you the second match will be better. These are great fighters but Rousey played dumb and she was shown up. Its as simple at that.
