I have heard nothing but good things about splatoon and I am sure it deserves at least 86. On the other side of this as many of you have mentioned there have been some games with rocky starts that got serious and consistent updates such as Drive Club and Killer Instinct, that should be re-reviewed to be consistent across the board.
On another level I find it quite hypocritical for people in the press to criticise preorder culture and day one dlc etc if they will only do launch reviews. It has all contributed to the perception that sales after the first few days don't matter. It also makes games feel rather like disposable pleasures when in reality we might hold on to a game for years.
