That 500$ PC barely managed 30 fps average on high settings without AA or basically anything else on and only 1024x768 resolution... Hardly a success at maxing out the game if you ask me, the truth is that no PC I know of or have heard of can max Crysis because it is horribly optimized, like Neverwinter Nights 2.
If you crank up the res to 1600x1050 or 1600x1200, turn on all realtime rendering (shadows, reflection), full HDR and 8xAA on very high settings it'd hang so bad you'd think you were watching a slideshow.
No more of this "500 dollar PC can play Crysis at max settings" bullshit (yeah its not what you said Shio, but many believe that it is possible).
I played Crysis on medium settings with no AA and almost no shadows, but with HDR, and trilinear filtering and barely managed to get decent framerates.
The cost of my PC? Around 3750$ in todays currency, it costs less to build now (obviously) but it'll still set you back way more than 500$ (at least here).
Hell, my GPU alone cost over 500$.
