On second thought, I'm going to make a male character anyways when I get this game.
I'll wait for the game's price to go down before buying though: if NoA removes features, I'll reduce the price I'm willing to pay. In addition to this, I'll be contacting Nintendo concerning the matter.
It's the principle.
