Not likely. This is a problem unique to Fallout 4. We don't see this issue in other open world games.

However, a lot of games do benefit in load times from an external HDD. I'm sure PS4 would as well if it supported external HDDs.


It supports internal HDDs/SSDs though and it's very easy to change. 

Im aware and it would be nice if X1 did the same.

However, connecting an external drive is even easier way to get more storage. Also, two drives versus one appears to help with bottleneck.
