You misunderstood me.  During October the ps4 sold a lot of those bundles aka pre orders.  So those sales are transferred to November.  on top of all that Halo 5 had all its previous pre orders added to October month.  And if that's not enough they slashed the price of the x1 with Kinect by $100 for the final week.

The PS4 sold more in September than x1 in October. It looks like the taken king had a bigger effect for the ps4 than halo 5.

Nah, the ps4's baseline has been higher and September is typically a bigger month for consoles than September.

Really surprised the xb1 managed to win with a ps4 price cut. It looks like the price cut did very little for ps4 sales considering PS4 sold 297k October last year.

How are you surprised when the x1 had: halo 5, Pre orders from previous months,  massive last week sale on Kinect bundle.

And ps4: no pre orders leading into October.  A remastered collection.  $50 cut but 3 of the bundles people were buying won't count until November.
