Splatoon not having voice chat isn't an issue for me. I used to be an frequent player of Call of Duty and the only time I actually used the voice chat feature is when I was playing with a friend or group of friends, which didn't happen often. Also, when I do play nowadays I mute most of the other players anyways because they became annoying and would said some vile things that I really didn't want to listen to while playing the game. So, I can see why Nintendo decided to keep that feature out of the game. However, if someone does play Splatoon with friends online all of the time I can see where it would be helpful and fun.
