My 4 and 6 year old enjoyed it a lot. The 6 year old plays, 4 year old watches. The younger one doesn't want to play alone and they don't like the 2 player mode. They do fine in co-op in PvZ GW, but competitive against each other is a no go. It's hard enough to get them to play MK8 together as predictably the older one always has the advantage.

That said, they were playing it almost daily for a month, yet haven't touched it since. I guess it got old. Did he play lego city undercover yet? That game has a ridiculous amount of play hours in our house. That never gets old and they keep going back to it despite having 4 newer lego games since.

While the older one was still playing Splatoon he never really cared about winning or losing. It was enough fun to paint with the different weapons and score hits. There is no communication in the game and I never saw any team work arise. I don't think he ever played any ranked battles. He went back to PvZ GW as he does like to unlock more weapons. Splatoon was a bit limited in that I guess.

Thanks for your story. You always seem very knowledgable and level-headed, so I trust your opinion a lot.

He played (still plays) Lego City Undercover a lot. I did, too. In fact, it's the first game in over a decade that I've bothered to 100%. We've clocked over 100 hours and are still playing it from time to time.
