Personally, I think Halo 4 is the best. But I have fun playing certain modes on all of them. I'm playing 5, but I've also been spending time with Reach.

Edit: Now that I think about it, you're probably focusing on campaigns while I'm discussing multiplayer. Halo 4 and 5 have good campaigns. Arguably better pacing and definitely better story telling and Bungie's trilogy. I really liked Reach's campaign, probably my favorite from Bungie.

I was speaking about both SP and MP. The thing that I usually asign value on is the "wow" factor. When I first played SP and MP in Halo 1 and 2, both games at certain times just blew my fucking mind. They were industry changing events and experiences that redefinded console FPS. With Halo 4, nothing felt that way to me. The SP felt by the numbers and the MP felt like an entirely different game. 

Maybe you're experiencing fatigue and you've become jaded. I played through all the campaigns in MCC (I originally played them on OG Xbox and 360 as well) and they can be tedious. I feel later games like ODST, Reach, 4, and 5 are more enjoyable playthroughs.

Right now I'm in the last few levels of Black Ops 3. And quite frankly, its a pretty awesome campaign in many ways. A few years ago it would have blown my mind. But right now, I've become so jaded as a gamer that everything feels by the numbers. It takes more to impress us now and our expectations have probably gone beyond realistic.
