Every Halo has an audience. I can pop in any Halo game on 360 and find thousand of playing at any moment. Even if you dont like 4 or 5, many will do so for years. Personally, I think Halo 4 is the best. But I have fun playing certain modes on all of them. I'm playing 5, but I've also been spending time with Reach. Edit: Now that I think about it, you're probably focusing on campaigns while I'm discussing multiplayer. Halo 4 and 5 have good campaigns. Arguably better pacing and definitely better story telling and Bungie's trilogy. I really liked Reach's campaign, probably my favorite from Bungie. |
I was speaking about both SP and MP. The thing that I usually asign value on is the "wow" factor. When I first played SP and MP in Halo 1 and 2, both games at certain times just blew my fucking mind. They were industry changing events and experiences that redefinded console FPS. With Halo 4, nothing felt that way to me. The SP felt by the numbers and the MP felt like an entirely different game.
But I can't state this enough... the loss of Marty as the composer was probably the biggest loss imo. I don't know if it's because I am a musican and composer myself but, Marty's work is almost like John Willams imo. His presence is SORELY missed as it was his work that gave that game it's feeling of epicness, much in the same way Williams gave Star Wars it's epic weight.
